And so we bake pies
/My mother always used to let me cut the butter into the flour. Butter. Not shortening. We never had a pastry blender or a food processor so I had to use a fork. I can never remember her buying a pre-made crust. Ever. Warm pie, cold vanilla ice cream- that was, and will always be, my favorite part of the Thanksgiving feast.
I'm running a little 5k Turkey Run tomorrow. We're gathering with family for dinner. You guessed it, I'm bringing the pie(s). If you're in charge of setting the table you might want to gather some inspiration from my friend Clara. So lovely!
I'm thankful for so many things, it's hard to even begin to write them all down. I don't think I could be articulate enough to generate a list... right now it's more of a mental swirl of grateful thoughts. YOU are definitely floating around in there. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for the words you leave me. Just, thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving Friends. Cheers.
