oh @$&%!!
/I don't often swear...but I will admit there are moments in life when a good four letter bomb just fits.
Take yesterday for example. I pulled out the iBert bike seat, dusted it off, replaced a broken buckle, and loaded up The Boy. We took a picture of the cuteness, rode a little loop around the neighborhood, then promptly crashed at the mailbox. Of course there was another lady from down the street standing there, and of course she saw us fall. She came to pick us up off the ground and I'm sure she thought I was an absolute lunatic for strapping my child into that contraption. I've been expecting Child Protetive Services to show up any time. We were essentially fine. No broken bones but a few scrapes and very shook up. Ian is NOT interested in getting back into that seat. I'll keep trying, but I may have ruined it. @#$%!
In other news:
I planted the entire garden over the weekend. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, potatoes, squash, spinich, carrots, lettuce, swiss chard. The whole she-bang. Then we had a great deal of wind. Then all my plants died. @#$%! Not sure what I'm going to do next.
I've been researching curriculum choices for next year and generally feeling fresh and inspired to have the girls home again. I've been planning schedules and registering for extra-curricular activities. It feels good to have a nice head start. I'll plan a post covering what I've chosen once I get it all nailed down.
I took Ian for his 1 year check-up last week. We hadn't been since he was 4 months. Praise the Lord for breastmilk and good health! Our pediatrician was not entirely thrilled with our delayed/selective vaccination schedule. I held firm and am finding that the longer I'm a mother (10 years now!) the braver I get. He also encouraged me to not waste any time introducing cow's milk- which I haven't yet. When I inquired about the nutritional benefits of it over breastmilk he replied with, "Well, drinking cow's milk is just something he should be doing now. Developmentally, it is time." What the @#$$? He is a human. Human milk for human babies. Deep breath, I'm letting it go. His stats were: 22lbs 7oz, 30.5" happy and healthy! Oh and he's walking!!
I'm really itching to get some sewing and crochet projects going. As always, it's hard to find the time. I re-organized my sewing space hoping that would inspire me to jump in and start something...nothing to show yet. I can't wait to get my hands on this book!
Um where has Nourished Kitchen been all my life? Totally loving my menus, recipes, shopping lists, etc emailed to me each Monday. HUGE time saver!
Okay, baby awake, @#$%...I should've done the dishes while he was asleep! Have a great Wednesday!
