Light

Morning wheat2008-11-23

The skies have cleared.  The light is so nice.

Wheat fields in nov2008-11-23

I have really grown to love the view out of my living room windows.  When it is obscured I realized how much I miss peering out on the wheat fields.

Morning coffee2008-11-23_1

In the mornings I find myself here waiting to meet the sunshine.

Frosted ground cover2008-11-23

The ground was all sparkly this morning.  I ventured out in my jammies and slippers to snap this picture- I'm sure the neighbors appreciated that one.

Frozen wheelbarrow2008-11-23

Lots of frozen tomatoes out there.

Laptop2008-11-23

In other news, I am the recipient of Carl's electronic hand-me-downs.  Since he treated himself to one of these (web designers = mac snobs)I am now the proud owner of his "old" laptop.  A few technical kinks have kept me from blogging this past week.  I am back on track however, and have missed this space. We're headed out of town for Thanksgiving and I'm bringing my camera and this laptop with me.  Be checking in all week!!

scenes from the morning

Foggy light01

Fog.  It seems that we have our heads in the clouds. Out of every window we see the soft wispy white.

Foggy kitchen window01

Foggy breakfast bar01

Steel cut oats for breakfast, pick your favorite topping.  Mine was topped with dried apricots and crystallized ginger, a trickle of milk, vanilla, and a sprinkle of ground flax. Yum.

Foggy soy milk01

Also warming our bellies is this surprisingly tasty soy milk- chocolate peppermint.  I hooked everyone (including those "devout milk/meat/everything non-vegan lovers of the male species") before I revealed what they were really drinking!

Red felt roses01

Little snippets of crafting happening too.  Emphasis on the word little.  I thought these decorations were pretty and simple and felt.  I love felt.  I finally finished a knitting project that has taken me 3 embarrassing weeks to complete.  I'll take pictures when the lighting is better.

I updated my reading list over there on the right.  Some really great reading happening here!
