twice baked and dancing

End of the week. Husband gone to a meeting. Hungry kids. Impatient toddler. Dinner time. Forgot to plan/shop for/prep something gourmet or otherwise amazing. What to do?

Quick. Throw some potatoes in the oven.

Play some music really loud and shake it. We were listening to this.

Boom! Before you know it you've burned some calories, entertained the kids, and dinner is on the table.

Morning!

The sun is coming up a little earlier each day. Love that. With the sun comes a miriad of people who wander from their beds hungry!

For them: Pancakes. (Which, let's just be real, are merely a vehicle for butter and syrup. I allow it)

For me: 2 eggs, asapargus, lemon zest, cayenne, salt and pepper, and a splash of half and half. Bake at 400 in a buttered dish until set.  Mmmm, mmmm.

I know you are there and that I am here...but I really wish you could come for breakfast.

It's my favorite time of the day and I make a pretty good latte.

I probably don't have a cup with your initial on it... but we could just stay in our pajamas all day. So what do you say?

dinner prepping

Dinner prep

Putting food together for dinner  (didn't have lemons so I used oranges and traded the fennel for some potatoes). Also taking in a little inspiration (because it is February, and February is a grueling "not quite spring" month for homeschooling). I've only had time to watch a couple of these videos- and with a toddler on my lap, but so far SO good.

Assignment sheet clips

Here'something new. We've tried bulletin boards, clip boards, file folders, baskets, binders, etc.  None of those solutions have been as cute and functional as this for our assignment sheets. It was easy and cheap! I'm loving it. Instructions here.

I'm going to try and get the girls to clean all the nooks and crannies in their room today. School room tour coming soon!
