/It's my birthday...and you know what? It's not so bad.
Getting one year older has meant getting better- this year at least. I'd kinda like to keep that going.
Rewind (cont.)
/Other details (headlines rather) that got left somewhere behind- back in June are:
This little muffin is Audrey Karen, my newborn niece. She was born right on schedule-not a day late! If there was ever a birth that I wanted to be at....I was a nervous wreck waiting on the sidelines- updates only coming to me in the form of fragmented two-word texts on my phone.
But alas, they didn't need me- both Mom and Dad did great! I did get my hands on Audrey-girl though. That is, after I wrestled my brother for her. To say he is in love would be a total understatement. I wish we lived closer, I only had a few days to dote on the new little family- not enough.
I had to hurry home. There was a party to plan for. If ever there was a girl who loved parties, it is this girl.
Hannah turned 6. Six? Really? It hardly seems possible.
We had our annual back-yard birthday bash. All of the activities planned by the birthday girl. Like floats instead of cake, because "everyone always has cupcakes or something and I only really like the frosting anyways-not the spongy part, it sticks to the top of my mouth. Ice cream AND pop (a rare treat) is much more funner."
Hannah's birthday is on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. I think it is quite fitting for her.
Hannah my sweet, you are all that is "summer".
sleeping in
breakfast outside
pina-colada popsicles
bare feet
tan lines
fireworks
kissing under water
cartwheels in the grass
bike rides to the beach
line-dried towels
sun-kissed highlights
naming the stars
campfires and marshmallows
sand between your toes
picnics
....and perfection. You make everything more fun. Six is going to be good.
